Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Virgin Valley Theatre Group’s Summer Theatre Program for 2021. We know that you have choices as to where and how you spend your time during the summer season. We appreciate that you have chosen to spend it with us!

Your participant will be in a full production at the end of their session! Attendance is vitally important! Auditions will take place on the first day of the session. If you know that your participant will be absent, please notify me at the beginning of the session. This may affect the part the participant is assigned.
The audition will consist of reading lines from the script and singing Happy Birthday. I will try to have audition scenes ready for pick up before the session starts. You will be notified by email when they will be available. Please read through the scenes and be comfortable with them. An audition technique workshop will be given on the first day to help make your participant feel more comfortable and confident.
We want you to know that the Summer Theatre Program will be conducted in a safe, supportive and creative atmosphere while having fun! It will be very important that you bring your concerns to our attention immediately so that we can resolve them quickly and to the best advantage of our participants.

We will invite you to share your thoughts and opinions regarding the program AFTER the end of the session. We hope that you will seize the opportunity to provide your input as we strive to make the Summer Theatre Program a place you will want to return to for many years to come!

We will begin the sessions at 8:45 for check in and class will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. Each session will begin with icebreakers in order for the participants to get to know each other. The day ends promptly at 1:00 p.m. Our teachers have other obligations and cannot stay at the theatre after 1:00 p.m.

Please note that not all participants will be assigned a lead role, however, all participants will be showcased during their performances. We want every child to learn and grow from this experience. We are hopeful that all participants will want to be on stage in an active role that will lead to an excellent production.
