Rising Stars is a youth theatre initiative that nurtures creativity, confidence, and teamwork. Students learn acting, stagecraft, and production skills in a supportive, hands‑on environment.

Curriculum (3‑Month Track)

Makeup & Costuming

  • Character & age makeup fundamentals
  • Hygiene, safety, and kit building
  • Costume concepts: silhouette, palette, texture
  • Hands‑on creation of showcase looks
Outcomes: basic kit, styled look, photo log

Set Building & Props

  • Scenic design basics & safe tool use
  • Materials: foam, fabric, paint, hardware
  • Prop building & durability for stage
  • Backstage etiquette & strike workflow
Outcomes: finished prop, paint sample board, crew roles

Performance Skills

  • Acting, blocking, voice & movement
  • Script work: beats, objectives, cues
  • Improv for listening & ensemble play
  • Rehearsals toward final showcase
Outcomes: scene/number performance, ensemble credit

FAQ

What ages can participate?

Ages 6–18. Students are placed into Junior (6–12) and Senior (13–18) groups.

Do students need prior experience?

No — beginners through advanced are welcome.

What is the time commitment?

One 2‑hour session per week, with extra rehearsals near the showcase.
